About Qianli Ma

I have a joint appointment as an assistant researcher at UCLA and research scientist at Boston University. My research interest includes the modeling of resonant wave-particle interactions in Earth’s and Jupiter’s radiation belts, and analysis of whistler-mode wave and energetic electron data from THEMIS, Van Allen Probes, ARASE, and Juno missions. I am interested in the electron precipitation from the magnetosphere to the atmosphere, electron acceleration in the radiation belts, whistler-mode wave generation and distribution, and the scattering loss and acceleration of ring current protons by electromagnetic ion cyclotron waves and magnetosonic waves.
